PLANNING BOARD AND SELECTMEN'S <br /> AD HOC TREE COMMITTEE <br /> Members: Eleven(11) <br /> Appointed By: Board of Selectmen <br /> Term Length: Until end of 2001 Town Meeting <br /> Description: The Selectmen's Ad Hoc Tree Committee shall provide the 2001 <br /> Annual Town Meeting with a proposal to create a by-law regarding the <br /> care,preservation and replacement of trees (public and private) <br /> throughout the Town of Lexington. The Cominittee shall consider <br /> making recommendations as to appropriate level of public and private <br /> funding necessary to meet the explicit and implicit reqnirements of this <br /> new by-law. <br /> In addition, the Committee shall examine and investigate all necessary <br /> education programs regarding tree planting and maintenance as well as <br /> to make recommendations as to the most effective and timely way for <br /> the Town to initiate and complete a street tree inventory. <br /> Staff: Brian Gilbert and Ron Russo <br /> Adopted by the Board of Selectmen on June 12, 2000. <br />
