HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-02-21-BOH-min (Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board)Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Meeting Meeting Minutes February 21, 2024 2:00 to 3:00 pm Via Webex Attendees: Susan Lumenello, Director Burlington Board of Health, Joanne Belanger, Director Lexington Board of Health, Katy Doughty, Epidemiologist, and Katie Capobianco, Shared Services Coordinator I. Approval of Minutes • Joanne made a motion, second by Susan, to approve the amended December 20, 2023 meeting minutes- motion approved. II. Program Updates • Rashod is now a certified CPR trainer and can hold a class. He is looking into ordering the mannequins. • Joanne advised that they need CPR/AED training in Lexington and would like to partner with Lexington Fire Department to do a joint training with Rashod. Joanne will check to see if Lexington FD has mannequins that can be used. • Katie will send Joanne and Shelly the resumes that have been received for the Community Outreach position. • Burlington will be holding another Matter of Balance training. III. Epidemiologist Updates – Katy Doughty • Katy provided an overview of her role • Katy walked through a slide show breaking down opioid data at a glance by town • Katy advised that regarding future direction, she will be attending the Burlington Health Fair, collaborating in START, and the Wilmington Wellness Committee. She has attended a few meetings for Wilmington and participated in the parental survey. Wilmington is using their opioid funds to hire a short term therapist to assist people while they are looking for a permanent mental health provider. • Joanne advised that regarding START, there is a google doc survey for scheduling meetings every other month. Personnel from the Lexington schools attended and the funding is in place to work with a school project and for the purchase of rescue kits, and lock boxes. They are looking to get community involvement and are considering sending out a survey. Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington • Joanne is attending the Opioid Abatement Conference on March 19th and 20th and invited Katy to attend. • Katy is working on a digital newsletter to send to all staff and BOH members. Joanne will share the staff email addresses with Katy and include the town manager and select board emails. IV. Municipality Updates • Joanne advised that Lexington Public Health week is coming up in April. The movie screening of Below the Belt will be shown. The movie theater holds 150 people and the owner is not charging for the use of the theater. The cost of the screening is less than the originally anticipated $5000.00 and will cost $1100.00 however there will be a cost to rent the AV equipment. • Katie will send Joanne and Shelly the information on the upcoming Mental Health First Aid training for anyone who would like to attend. The PHE staff should attend this training. • Joanne advised that she will continue to need help with the families in need at the Lexington EA shelter. • Lexington will be holding a vaccination clinic on February 22, 2024. There are only eight children signed up but they will be offering vaccinations to other family members age three and up. Tahycha will be there to assist with translation. V. Tobacco Funding • Mary Brush is pushing for policy/regulation updates. Model regulations can be used. • Joanne commented that is would be good to have all three communities in sync with the regulations. Joanne can provide Tahycha with what their former contractor had done to update their tobacco regulations. • Tahycha is continuing with her training and is available to help in Lexington and Wilmington. Tahycha is also being trained for pool inspections. VI. New Business DPH has provided updated eligible spending guidelines that would include the purchase of vaccine refrigerators. The next meeting will be held on March 20, 2024. Meeting adjourned at 3:00 PM.
