<br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM. Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, served as Chair Person.
<br />David Neylon, Public Health Nurse, reviewed the Community Health Report.
<br />Chief Mark Corr, Lexington Police Department, met with the board to discuss proposed regulation
<br />governing the practice of bodywork. After some discussion, John J. Flynn proposed a motion that stated,
<br />“The Lexington Board of Health moves to develop final edits to the draft regulation establishing
<br />governing for the practice of bodywork, and authorizes the Health Director to initiate activities for the
<br />public hearings process.” David Geller, M.D., seconded the motion. All were in favor.
<br />The Environmental Health report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed;
<br />Boston Brow Studio, Marissa Kong-Nutu, Owner, met with the BOH to request a permit to operate a
<br />Body Art Establishment. After some discussion, David Geller, M.D. proposed a motion that stated, “The
<br />Lexington Board of Health grants an Annual Permit to operate a Body Art Establishment to Boston Brow
<br />Studio, located at 675 Lowell Street, Suite 2.” Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, seconded the motion, all
<br />were in favor. David Geller, M.D., proposed a motion that stated, “The Lexington Board of Health grants
<br />an Annual Permit to operate as a Body Art Practitioner, to Marissa Kong-Nutu, upon successfully
<br />submitting a Cori report, to the Office of Public Health,” Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM seconded the
<br />motion, all were in favor.
<br />State Sanitary Code Case reviews were forwarded to the April Board of Health meeting.
<br />Sustainable Lexington Building material policy update; Sara Robinson, Boston University School of
<br />Public Health, undergraduate student, is currently working with the Lexington Office of Public Health.
<br />Ms. Robinson is developing a list of suggested building materials that can be used as an alternative to
<br />potentially toxic materials. A comprehensive list will be drafted as well as an assessment of the
<br />ventilation system.
