<br />LEXINGTON BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />Wednesday, February 15, 2017 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Cary Hall Memorial Building <br />Estabrook Hall, (lower level) <br />1605 Massachusetts Avenue <br />Lexington, MA 02420 <br />Board of Health Members in Attendance: <br />Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Chair, John J. Flynn, David Geller, M.D., Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, <br />Office of Public Health Attendees: <br />Gerard F. Cody, Health Director <br />Francis Dagle, Health Assistant <br />Speakers: <br />Chief Mark J. Corr, Lexington Police Department <br />Documents: <br />Community Health Report <br />Environmental Health Report <br />12 Eastern Avenue documents <br />6 Churchill Lane documents <br />4 Baskin Road document <br />Tobacco Control document <br />Tick Survey Report <br />Emergency Preparedness Report <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM. Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, served as Chair Person. <br />Director Cody reviewed the Community Health Report. <br />The Environmental Health report was reviewed for January 2017 inspections. <br />Chief Mark J. Corr, Lexington Police Department, met with the board to discuss proposed regulation <br />governing the practice of bodywork. John J. Flynn, proposed a motion that stated, “The Lexington Board <br />of Health moves to approve draft regulation establishing governing for the practice of bodywork.” <br />Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br />The Board reviewed the State Sanitary Code Case for 6 Churchill Lane; a non-criminal complaint was <br />filed by Director Cody on December 30, 2016. The court case is currently ongoing. See minutes from <br />October 2016 for further information. 12 Eastern Avenue; An Emergency Condemnation and Order to <br />Vacate Letter was sent to the Homeowner on January 27, 2017, by the Office of Public Health. The <br />homeowner is working with the tenant at this time. 24B Greeley Village; Case is currently ongoing. 30 <br />Bow Street; case is closed. <br />Lodging Places Regulation; continued till the next BOH meeting. <br />Sustainable Lexington Building material policy; Students are currently working on this project. An update <br />will be provided at the next BOH meeting. <br />Tobacco Control; A representative of the FDA Grant Program notified the Health Director that the <br />Lexington Cumberland Farms was found to be in violation during a compliance check in October. <br />Lexington Community Endowment Grant- Tick Survey; The grant results report was reviewed. <br />The Emergency Preparedness report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed. <br />Region 4AB Public Health plans to hire Harvard School of Public Health Emergency Preparedness <br />Research, Evaluation and Practice Program (EPrep) to conduct facilitated training geared for public health <br />departments. The Lexington Health Director plans to attend to represent the Town of Lexington. The <br /> <br />
