Lexington Council for the Arts Meeting Minutes <br />September 12, 2016 <br />#237 Multi- Purpose Room, Town Community Center <br />Pre - Meeting • Members joined for formal photograph taken by David Tabeling. <br />The photo was taken near paintings made by Mary Brunn Alessio <br />At 7:05 p.m. Chair Cristina Burwell noted that the posting for the meeting was not <br />on the public meeting calendar today and she would bring all topics listed on the <br />agenda back to the group at the October meeting. As it was the last meeting <br />when the Treasurer and other members who are leaving the Council would be <br />present, Cristina provided updates on the work she had done over the summer. <br />Present: Cristina Burwell, Jean Hart, Laurel Smith, Lynne Klemmer, Diana <br />South, Leslie Masson, Seetha Ramnath, Faith Lin, Rebecca McGowan, Amy <br />Kaser. <br />Absent & Missed: Cheryl Meadow. <br />Secretary: Jessie Steigerwald <br />Treasurer: Diana South reviewed the way she generally reports on the bank <br />balance, total amount committed to grantees, updated balance as grantees <br />submit their receipts, and balances for the local account. Diana will be stepping <br />down. <br />Grants Report: Cristina reviewed summer activities. Jessie shared that she <br />saw the Metropolitan Wind concert and it was well attended. Members <br />discussed capturing future projects for publicity purposes <br />Grant Cycle: Grant application advertising has gone out to alert people to the <br />upcoming opportunity on Facebook, Minuteman newspaper, Lexington email <br />groups. Suggestions to add to high school bulletin board, and to reach out to <br />schools and teachers, as well as the Garden Club. Suggestions to include <br />Interpretive Sciences as a category. <br />Cristina shared brief updates about the Community Center Gallery and a June <br />meeting with the Town Manager, Carl Valente. The Arts Off -Road and future <br />meeting dates were briefly referenced <br />
