MPA. Minutes Approval After discussion, Dr. Perlmutter made a motion that the Board of Health approves the January 24,2023 minutes as amended. Ms. Wolf-Fordham then seconds the motion. The motion passes unanimously. Open Forum (2 minutes per person, state your name and address) None Proposed Revisions to the rDNA Regulation: Ms. McCartin gave an overview of the proposed changes to the regulation. Ms. Caruso provided further clarifications and answered questions from the Board. After discussion, Dr. Heiger-Bernays made a motion to adopt the revised rDNA regulation. The regulations are to go into effect after legal review by Town Counsel. The motion was seconded by Dr. Tung, the motion was passed unanimously. Discussion: Warrant Article 32- Dunback Meadow Sewer Easement Ingrid Klimoff- 18 Bacon Street. Ingrid Klimoff presented the proposed Article 32 to the Board. Dr. Heiger- Bernays stated the Conservation Commission was also having a meeting tonight regarding this matter. Dr. Heiger- Bernays suggested the Board should postpone a response regarding support of this article and wait until they hear what the Conservation Commission has to say. The Board of Health voted unanimously on the decision to wait until the Board hears the Conservation Commission’s decisions. Update: Alexandria’s Convenience Store: After a discussion of the status of Alexandria’s Convenience Store, Dr. Perlmutter made a motion that the Health Office does an inspection tomorrow (2/23/2023) to decide whether or not they are currently in compliance with the Food Code. An order is to be sent to the store to hire a food consultant and set up monthly inspections for 4 months and send reports to the Lexington Health Office by the end of each month. This motion is to begin immediately. The motion was seconded by Dr. Heiger- Bernays. The motion passed unanimously. . Emergency Condemnation of a Dwelling- 2 Welch Rd The passing of a town resident was a very sad situation. The dwelling was a hoarding situation. The Health staff has yet to find a next of kin. The Health Office had to act to have the dwelling secured and marked by the Fire Department to assure no one would be able to access the dangerous dwelling. The Fire Department marked the house and DPW worked with the Health Office to board up the dwelling. The Order and inspection report along with photos were provided to the Board in their packets. FDA Grant -Update Ms. McCartin reported that the Health office will use the FDA grant to sponsor a ServSafe class for food establishments in Lexington. The grant funding will reduce the cost significantly. This will allow up to 30 participants to attend the one-day class and provide the reading materials and the physical test at the end of the class. Tobacco Control -Update Tobacco Inspector’s report was reviewed, and no significant questions from the Board. Flu and COVID-19 Update: The Lexington COVID data from the Health Department dashboard was provided to the Board. COVID test kits provided by the State are available at the Health Office, Community Center, DPW, Fire, Police Stations, and Cary Library. As a reminder new shipment was received, that has an expiration date of 8/18/2023. Health Staff Reports: The Board agreed to continue the COVID dashboard through the month of May, then discontinue and refer to the Mass.gov Covid-19 update and information page. Ms. McCartin provided the Board with inspection reports. Ms. McCartin discussed her software experience with the inspection software WinWam and received positive feedback from permit holders. Ms. Belanger reminded the Board of Health of National Public Health Week April 3 – 9, 2023. Ms. Belanger discussion regarding the future of remote meetings after March 31st. Ms. Belanger announced that the Health Office is now approved for the vaccine for children programs through the State. This means the Health Office can now order childhood vaccines from the State vaccine program and be able to work with schools and offer vaccines clinics. Correspondence / Information: Mosquito The Board suggested the Health Office informs the Waldorf Schools before spraying as it abuts wetlands. New / Old Business: Dr.Heiger- Bernays gave the Board an overview of the ( Rec/ Health/ SC) working group most recent meeting regarding the Lincoln Field resurfacing. Dr. Heiger-Bernays also gave a breakdown of artificial turfs vs. natural grass, PFAS, and crumb rubber. Adjournment: Wendy Heiger-Bernays asked for a motion to adjourn at 8:37 pm. Burt Perlmutter, M.D. made the motion. Dr. Tung seconded. Motion carried 4 to 0. All in favor.
