Improvements—Lead
and Copper Program $4,209,580 Water Fund Debt Approval 6-0
"The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) revised the lead and copper rule requiring
communities to inventory and replace lead service water lines.This funding request is to provide consulting
services to develop the inventory,bid specifications,and hire a contractor to perform the replacement work.
Staff will be pursuing an interest-free loan from MWRA to partly fund this project."

This appropriation has been updated to completely utilize an interest-free Massachusetts Water Resources
Authority (MWRA) loan, with a 10 year term, and the now single funding source to pay back.
