<br />313212Opw-21;21bn <br />313425Gfc-5;34qn <br />AD HOC TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE <br />Members: 7 Members to include: (1) member of the Transportation Advisory Committee; (1) <br />member of the Senior Community; the Assistant Town Manager for Finance (or their <br />designee); (1) member of the Economic Development Advisory Committee; (1) business <br />representative; (1) member of the School Committee (or their designee); and the <br />Human Services Director (or their designee) as well as Liaisons from the Select Board, <br />Appropriations Committee and Capital Expenditures Committee. <br />Appointed by: Select Board <br />Assigned Staff: Transportation Services Manager <br />Length of Term: One Year <br />Meeting Times: As determined by the Committee <br />Description:The Ad Hoc Transportation Committee will evaluate the Lexpress bus service to review: <br />Lexpress, MBTA and other shuttle bus routes and passenger volumes <br />View the cost per passenger for Lexpress in relation to other local, regional and <br />national cost per passenger standards <br />Review what needs are being met and whether there are needs that are not being <br />met (businesses, students, seniors, etc.) <br />Review bus routes/times in which Lexpress buses are running routes with no <br />passengers <br />Review fares and recommend a new fare structure <br />Review contracted services vs. in-house service <br />Provide a recommendation on whether the service should continue, if so, the <br />structure of Lexpress, what routes should be and what rate fares should be set at in <br />the future <br />Mission: To provide a recommendation to the Select Board no later than December 15, 2023 on <br />the future of the Lexpress bus service in time to be incorporated into the FY25 budget. <br />At least two public hearings; one to obtain input and a second to obtain feedback on the <br />recommendations. It is intended that this Ad Hoc Committee will be disbanded in <br />December 2023. <br />Prior to serving as a member of this Committee, appointees are required to: <br />1.Acknowledge receipt of the Summary of the Conflict of Interest Statute. Further, to continue to serve on <br />the Committee the member must acknowledge annually receipt of the Summary of the Conflict of <br />Interest Statute. Said summary will be provided by and acknowledged to the Town Clerk. <br />2.Provide evidence to the Town Clerk that the appointee has completed the on-line training requirement <br />required by the Conflict of Interest statute. Further, to continue to serve on the Committee, the <br />member must acknowledge every two years completion of the on-line training requirement. <br />
