V <br /> • <br /> WARRANT FOR STATE ELFCTION <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss . <br /> To either of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, in said County, <br /> Greeting: <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to notify and <br /> warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in elections to <br /> meet in their respective voting places in said Town, ' <br /> PRECINCT ONE, HARRINGTON SCHOOL; PRECINCT TWO, ADAMS SCHOOL; PRECINCT <br /> THREE, CARY MEMORIAL BUILDING; PRECINCT FOUR, SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL; PRECINCT <br /> FIVE, CENTRAL FIRE STATION; PRECINCT SIX, MARIA HASTINGS SCHOOL, on <br /> TUESDAY, THE EIGHTH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1966 <br /> at 7: 00 o' clock A.M. , to cast their ballots for the following officers: <br /> Senator inCbngress; Governor; Lieutenant Governor; Attorney General; <br /> Secretary; Treasurer; Auditor; Representative in Congress; Councillor; <br /> Senator; One Representative in General Court; District Attorney; <br /> Register of Probate and Insolvency; One County Commissioner; County <br /> Treasurer. <br /> VACANCY <br /> County Commissioner <br /> And to take action on the following questions: <br /> QUESTION NO. 1 <br /> PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION <br /> Do you approve of the adoption of an amendment to the <br /> constitution summarized below which was approved by the General <br /> Court in aoint session of the two branches held June 11, 1963, <br /> received 228 votes in the affirmative and 29 in the negative, YES <br /> and in a joint session of the two branches held May 5, 1965,re- NO <br /> ceived 225 votes in the affirmative and 24 in the negative? <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The proposed amendment provides that at state elections <br /> candidates for Governor and Lieutenant-Governor shall be grouped <br /> on the official ballot according to the party that they represent <br /> and that it shall not be possible to vote for Governor and <br /> Lieutenant-Governor except as a partisan group. <br /> QUESTION NO. 2 - <br /> PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION <br /> Do you approve of the adoption of an amendment to the <br /> constitution summarized below which was approved by the General <br /> Court in a joint session of the two branches held July 16, 1963, <br /> received 169 votes in the affirmative and 100 in the negative, YES <br /> and in a joint session of the two branches held May 5, 1965, re- NO <br /> ceived 200 votes in the affirmative and 61 in the negative? <br />
