<br />LEXINGTON COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 21, 2008 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Attendance: <br /> Present were Members: Jeanne Canale, Chair; David Becker, Maria Kieslich, <br />Ken Pogran, John Rommelfanger and David Buczkowski; Guests: Harry Forsdick and <br />Shelby Kashket from LexMedia; Jane Lyman from Comcast and Jill Reddish from <br />Verizon <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />1. Minutes <br /> The Minutes from the January 17, 2008 meeting were accepted by unanimous <br />vote. <br /> <br />2. Comcast Report <br /> <br />a. Ms. Lyman submitted an updated amendment to the Comcast License for the <br />I-Net containing an adjusted date and upfront payment of fees. Mr. Becker <br />inquired about penalties for not meeting the I-Net removal date. <br />b. Comcast has agreed to let RCN use its conduit at the Senior Center (1475 <br />Massachusetts Avenue) <br />c. Ms. Lyman stated that the upcoming transition from analog to digital should <br />be seamless for its customers. No purchase of a separate box will be necessary <br />for at least 2 or 3 years. <br /> <br />3. Verizon Report <br /> <br />a. Verizon will be sending out notification of complete digital conversion within <br />a week. A new set top box will be required. The basis on which they will be <br />provided to subscribers is to be determined. Verizon will be using an outside <br />vender to assist it. <br />b. On the Avalon Bay complaint Ms. Reddish stated that the access agreement is <br />only for new tenants. The landlord has to allow access to the old buildings. <br /> <br />4. LexMedia Report <br /> <br />a. All papers have been signed for the Kline Hall sublease and for the $400,000 <br />grant for the build out. The first $200K has been requested. <br />b. On February 20, 2008 the first meeting with Avalon, the contractor and the <br />architects was held. Construction could start as soon as February 25, 2008 and <br />be complete by the middle of May. There is another meeting set for February <br />27, 2008. Regular progress reports will be provided. <br /> <br />
