MEETING OF THE <br /> ASSOCIATI `N OF TO'R'N FINANCE COMMITTEES <br /> December 13, 1944. <br /> A meeting of the Association of Town Finance <br /> Committees was held at the Hotel Sheraton, Bay State Road, <br /> Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday evening, December 13, <br /> 1944 at 6;00 P.M. <br /> The following Appropriation Committee members <br /> were present: - <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt George M. Hynes <br /> Raymond L. p bite <br /> Danforth Comins, the Executive Secretary, stated <br /> at the beginning of the meeting that the next meeting of <br /> the Association will be held Thursday evening, January 25, <br /> 1945; he hope'. that each member would make note of this and <br /> plan to be present. Mr. Comins further stated that each <br /> Town representative should be sure to mail 100 extra copies <br /> of the Appropriation Comm' ttee RePort direct to him as he <br /> Intends to assort the different towns and send a complete <br /> set to each To member of the Association. <br /> The first speaker of the evening was Danforth <br /> Com:i_ns, Executive Secretary, and his subject was to <br /> standardize budgets so that the information would be of <br /> service to all the towns. He also submitted a sample <br /> budget for the guidance of the members in preparing their <br /> reports. <br /> mr. George walker was present and he was one of <br /> the men who won recognition at the Metropolitan Contest. <br /> Mr. ramble of Harvard was also at the meeting, and he with <br /> Mr. walker and others were the ones who submitted the <br /> excellent plan of ways and means of improving Boston. <br /> George Searles, Division of Accounts, was the <br /> next speaker and his subject was the School Department. He <br /> plans to send to each member a copy of his speech, so the <br /> details have been eliminated from this record. <br />
