TTINtITES OF THE MEETING OF THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> HELD AT THE TOr'N OFFICE BUILDING, MONDAY <br /> EVENING, FEBRUARY 7, 1944. <br /> Notification of this meeting was furnished to all mem- <br /> bers of the Committee. <br /> The meeting was opened in the office of the Town Account- <br /> ant at 8:10 P.M. , by Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt, with the following <br /> members in attendance : <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt, Chairman <br /> Ronald D. Brown Richard W. Maynard <br /> Fred C. Newhall Thacher Jenney <br /> Raymond L. White, Town Accountant <br /> Minutes of the Meeting Held January 31, 1944. <br /> It was regularly moved and voted to dispense with the <br /> reading of the minutes of the regular meeting held January 31, <br /> 1944. <br /> Yr. James J. Carroll, Clerk of the Board of Registrars, <br /> was admitted to this meeting. He stated that the Registrations <br /> Department - Expense budget would have to be increased, due to the <br /> fact that there would be four elections, instead of three, in the <br /> year 1944. The item for Printing voting Lists would have to be in- <br /> creased from 1225.00 to 1300.00 and Advertising from ':100.00 to <br /> 1108.00. Mr. Carroll also wanted this Committee to reconsider the <br /> Registrations Department - Personal Services budget. He stated <br /> that he needed more money for Clerical Assistance, as :150.00 would <br /> not be sufficient to do the work. ye said that he had originally <br /> requested 1400.00 but that 1300.00 would be satisfactory and that <br /> he would do what he could. Re also stated that •;~200.00 would be <br /> sufficient for the Assistant Registrars. MTr. Carroll left the <br /> meeting at 8:30 P.M. <br /> A motion was made, seconded and voted to reconsider the <br /> Registrations Department - ExPense budget and the Registrations <br /> Department - Personal Services budget. <br /> Registrations Department - Expenses - Total Approved ?493.00 <br /> The following items were changed: <br /> Printing voting„Lists to 1300.00 and <br /> Advertising to pl08.00. <br />
