9�� <br /> November 13, 1962 <br /> The Appropriation Committee met aionday evening November 5, 1962 at 7 :30 <br /> P . in the office of the Town Accountant. <br /> • <br /> Present: Logan Clarke Jr. , Chairman <br /> J. Harper ; laisdell , Vice Chairman John R. Bevan <br /> -aurice F. Shaughnessy PPichard H. Hattin <br /> C. Roland Christensen Robert H. Kiniston <br /> Raymond L. White, Secretary <br /> Notice was given to members of the meeting of the Town Finance Cciamittee <br /> on Thursday evening, November 3th, 1962 at ilotel 128 Dedham. John <br /> .;laisdell and Ray Uhite said they plan to attend. <br /> The first item brought up by the chairman ' 'as the Town Clerk and Treasurers <br /> office and Hoard of Reistrars office. ir. Clarke stated that he saw Jim <br /> Carroll and Jim told and showed him the different work he and his office <br /> had to do and this year especially due to the tro elections. Jim Carroll <br /> said the ;Joard of Registrars expense was for the services of fifteen or <br /> sixteen census taker. The Treasurer ' s budget on personal services includes <br /> himself and three girls. There are 13,910 registered voters in this <br /> community. ,Jr. Carroll stated to Logan Clarke that it is his intention <br /> to let the new girl go possibly in January 1963. Temporary position only. <br /> Logan said to this committee that he did not realize just what work Jim <br /> had to do and after talking to Jim himself and Jim showing some of the <br /> work he had to do he felt the re-u, st for 1 ,050.00 was in order and <br /> would so recommend. John Blaisdell made a .notion that we transfer ,1,050. 00 <br /> from the Reserve Fund to the Town Clerk and Town Treasurer Personal Service <br /> account. ;Motion was seconded by Robert H. Kingston and carried by members <br /> present. <br /> In reference to new school . i.ieeting with Austin '.`. Fisher and air. Garey <br /> the carry over balances of about 70,000. 00 which could be used to ren- <br /> ovate the High School . <br /> Information John flaisdell received from 1-Ir. Cronin, .:Assessor, is as follows: <br /> 150 new houses . 20,000.00 equals 3,000,000 in additional valuation. <br /> Possible increase in expenditures for year 1963. <br /> 5i. increase in Town ,Administration 170,000. 00 <br /> Preliminary sc`lool 464,000.00 <br /> School expense 36,000. 00 <br /> Civil 'defense ..0,000.00 <br /> 710,000. 00 <br /> Sal, ry classification plan shows „.130,000. 00 per year increase. Liberal <br /> witi other communities in this area. board of Selectmen is the admin- <br /> istrative officer. <br /> At 9:05 P. -1. our members joined the board of Selectmen and Capital <br /> Fxpenditures committee in the Selectmens room. <br />
