Roland Christensen telephoned and stated he could not attend, due to
an emergency meeting called at school .
fi` We had a letter from the Board of Selectmen, also a copy of letter given
to Board of Selectmen requesting ,,1 ,050.00 from the Reserve Fund to Town
Clerk and Treasurer . Suggested that we get more information relative to
Q transfer . Our chairman, Logan Clarke Jr. had already wrote Alfred
Viano a letter answering his letter of resignation.
The board of Health letter was read by our chairman where they are
requesting additional funds for food testing, etc. Suggested such services
be given out by contract. By this method we would save the services of
a Sanitarian, an additional employee.
General discussion was had where additional clerks are hired during vacation
and have been char -led to expenses. All personnel hired for clerical work
for short periods are to be taken out of personal services, not expenses.
Our chairman read letter received from Board of Assessors stating that the
tax rate per thousand to be y39.b0.
At 6: 10 P .m. our members joined the meeting of the Board of Selectmen
and Standing School Building Committee.
Mr. Austin i1.
