371 <br /> February 12, 1962 <br /> The Appropriation Committee met Monday evening February 12, 1962 at 5:00 <br /> P. M. in the office of the Town Accountant. <br /> Present: J. Harper Blaisdell, Chairman <br /> Raymond L. White, Temp. Sec. Frank E. Douglas <br /> Alfred Viano John R. Bevan <br /> Maurice F. Shaughnessy Richard H. Battin <br /> Logan Clarke Jr. telephoned that he would be late and would get Here as <br /> soon as possible. Logan Clarke Jr. did arrive here just after the meeting <br /> We first went over schedules submitted as follows: <br /> ct <br /> Borrowing Capacity as of December 31, 1961 <br /> Reserve Fund as of December 31, 1961 <br /> Available Funds as of December 31, 1961 <br /> Actual Estimated Receipts as of December 31, 1961 <br /> The valuation of the Town is 581,000,000 based upon year <br /> 1961 experience as received by the Assessors. <br /> The Articles for the annual Town Meeting were read briefly <br /> by the Chairman, there being approximately seventy <br /> articles. <br /> Frank E. Douglas asked if we had received a letter from the Town Treasurer <br /> in answer to our letter. <br /> Frank E. Douglas received from the Secretary, monthly cash balances per <br /> Town Accountant's books for the past tnree years. Frank stated that the <br /> 1952 law on the books allow the Town to invest available funds. Frank <br /> spoke at length about investing cash. See statute Chapter 253. <br /> It was suggested that Frank sit down with Jim Carroll and explain how <br /> investing available funds can be put to work. Frank is going to try <br /> to see Jim Carroll this coming week. <br /> Mr. Blaisdell said the Selectmen are going to give a $4.00 a week in— <br /> crease to employees. <br /> Tne meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.
