Souza <br /> Allocation of departments to each committee member for closer study <br /> and more frequent contact will be continued and expanded this year. <br /> Teachers Salary Committee — Frank will try to continue to take <br /> part in this <br /> Radio Communication Equipment — Milt Bretscher <br /> CD reimbursement was anticipated by Selectmen, check to see <br /> e--4 if application was made. <br /> LrJ <br /> Requests from Reserve Fund <br /> Board of Registrats: Mary McDonough requests transfer of $300 to <br /> pay herself as Clerk of the Board of Registrars. New state law <br /> requires Towns to pay $50 per 1000 voters per year to a clerk who <br /> is a member of the Board of Registrars. This would amount to $750 <br /> per year, or $250 for Sept. 1 (when the draw became effective) through <br /> Dec. 31, if this law applies to Mary. <br /> Committee voted against this transfer. $450 was voted in March <br /> to pay the Clerk of the Board of Registrars. Mary McDonough is Clerk <br /> of the Board, but is not a member. Therefore it would seem that <br /> her position is not included in this law. <br /> Police and Fire Medical: 41,000 requested. $500 appropriation has <br /> been spent. Voted to transfer $1,000 from Reserve Fund. <br /> Clerical Pool: $750 requested. Voted to transfer 4750 from Reserve <br /> Fund. This is needed for the paying the Northeastern students who <br /> work for the town under the cooperative program and for the building <br /> inspector's department. <br /> Salary Stuff Committee — Appropriation Committee has been asked to <br /> appoint another member to this com-littee; Don Noyes, who was our <br /> representative, has resigned from Approp. Ctee. <br /> Letters which accompany budget forms should include the name of <br /> the person on this committee who will specialize in that department. <br /> They will also include an extra sheet for estimated reimbursements and <br /> receipts. <br /> Collector of Taxes — Legal steps necessary to change this office <br /> from elected to appointed were discussed. Advisability of combining <br /> Treasurer — Collector was discussed. <br /> Meeting with Selectmen — Linc Cole invited members of committee to <br /> meet with Selectmen at Irv. Mabee's house, ilednesday, Sept. 20, for <br /> an informal discussion of the question of whether the Selectmen's <br /> figures of these of the Appropriation Committee should be read at <br /> Town Meeting. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Ruth F.
