Holt.. <br /> There were 193 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> The Town Clerk, James J. Carroll, read the warrant for a <br /> Special Town Meeting to be held March 21, 1938 until upon motion, <br /> duly seconded and voted, further reading of the warrant was waived. <br /> The Town Clerk read the Constable' s return of the warrant, <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux moves to take up Article 2, <br /> offering the following: <br /> Article 2. Voted: That a committee of three be appointed, of <br /> which the Moderator shall be a member, to have charge <br /> of the Cary Lectures for the next lecture season, <br /> Carried Unanimous 8 :16 P.M. <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux asks permission for John W. <br /> Raymond, Jr, to have a seat in the meeting,. Supt, of Public Works, <br /> Permission granted. <br /> Allen W. Rucker, Chairman of the Appropriation Cornm;ttee, <br /> presents report of the Appropriation Committee with remarks con- <br /> cerning same. <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux expresses the opinion of the <br /> Board of Selectmen regarding various items in the Appropriation <br /> Committee° s report. <br /> Motion made by Allen W. Rucker, Chairman of the Appropriation <br /> Committee, that report as presented be accepted ana placed on <br /> file, Carried Unanimous 8 :28 P.M. <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux moves to take up Article 3, <br /> making a motion that Article 3 be indefinitely postponed. <br /> Carried Unanimous 8 :29 P.M. <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux moves to take up Article 4, <br /> offering the following: <br /> Article 4. Voted : That the Town Treasurer, with the approval <br /> of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to <br /> borrow money from time to time in anticipation of <br /> the revenue of the financial year beginning <br /> January 1, 1939, and to issue a note or notes <br /> therefor, payable within one year and to renew <br /> any note or notes as may be given for a period <br /> of less than one year in accordance with Section <br /> 17, Chapter 44, General Laws, <br /> Carried Unanimous 8 :29 P, , <br /> Selectman Archibald R. Giroux moves to take up Article 5, <br /> offering the following: <br /> Article 5, Voted: That the mown Treasurer, with the approval <br /> of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to <br /> refund any or all of the revenue notes issued in <br /> anticipation of the revenue of the year 1938, in <br /> accordance with the provisions of Section 17, <br /> Chapter 44, General Laws ; any debt so incurred <br /> to be paid from the revenue of the year 1938, <br /> Carried Unanimous 8 :30 P.M. <br />
