Minutes of Meeting of April 15, 2015

A meeting of the was held on Wednesday, April 15th at 8:00 a.m. in the Parker Room of the
Town Office Building at 1625 Mass Ave.
Members Present
: John McWeeney, George Burnell, Rick DeAngelis, Narain Bhatia, Larry Smith, Sig
Tullman, and Lelani Loder, Tom Dusel, Bob Richards
Liaisons Present:
Charles Hornig (Planning Board), Joe Pato (Board of Selectmen)

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 a.m. and the following items were discussed:
March 2015 minutes were reviewed and
approved.
Town Meeting Update: Melisa reported that Town Meeting would be asked to consider the
funding for the Hartwell Avenue capital improvements including the final design and
construction of the Maguire/Hartwell intersection; the renovation of the Kiln Brook Bridge; and
the lighting and pedestrian improvements at the Jug Handle. Melisa also reported on the Center
parking initiative led by her office and that Town Meeting would be asked to consider funding
for new smart parking meters in the Center.
NAIOP Bus Tour: The committee discussed ideas how to better position Lexington and
participate in the NAIOP bus tour. Previously the committee had discussed hosting a brokers
open house around the same time that the NAIOP bus tour was taking place. The committees
discussed the ideas of leveraging the bus tour with a captive audience over the trying to organize
and promote a separate event that may draw on the same audience. Melisa agreed to coordinate
with the NAIOP representatives to seek a role in the bus tour.
Other Business: Melisa reported that the Metropolitan Planning Office (MPO) had moved up two
Lexington based projects on the priority list for state funding: 1) the Mass Ave intersections at
Marrett and Pleasant proposed for 2020 funding, and 2) the Jug Handle reconfiguration which
had been moved, but with a year stated.
