Lexington Council for the Arts <br />Meeting Agenda <br />November 9, 2015 <br />7:00 - 9:OOpm <br />#237 Multipurpose Room, Town Community Center <br />Tonight's meeting will be primarily focused on the review of the 2016 grant applications received by the <br />Council <br />1. Pre - Meeting Tasks <br />a. Review of handouts & minutes <br />b. Attendance: <br />• Present: Diana South, Cristina Burwell, Lynne Klemmer, Seetha Ramnath, Jean Hart, <br />Emily Passman, Cheryl Meadow, Jessie Steigerwald, Susan Hammond. <br />• Absent: Leslie Mason <br />• Guests: Faith Lin <br />• Recording Secretary:Seetha Ramnath <br />Meeting start time: 7:06pm <br />2. REPORTS <br />a. Secretary's Report <br />b. Approval of previous meeting's minutes <br />• Motion by Jessie to approve minutes, Seconded by Cristina <br />c. Chairperson's Report <br />• Membership: Faith Lin. We are awaiting approval from the Board of Selectmen so Faith <br />will be excused from voting in this session's Grant Review. <br />• General comments about Grant guidelines - several members noted the need for a <br />general timeline to receive funds following grant approval for a given year (specific to #17: <br />Lawn Sign in 2015 -16 submissions). Also need to confirm a singular vision for this project <br />based on prior year's experience. <br />• <br />d. Treasurer's Report <br />• Pending Grant Reimbursements <br />• Total funds for 2016 granting <br />• $5,085 to Grant this year ($4800, $525 not claimed last year, —$200 for admin <br />expenses) <br />• Local Revenue <br />e. Grants <br />• Review of 2016 grant applications (select applications listed below) <br />Members reviewed grant applications for disapproval letters, and elected to deny the <br />following 4 applicants because of limited public benefit: Contemporary Arts stone carving, <br />New Rep Theatre, Henry Lappin /trees; and Wood Jazz Trio because no venue had been <br />identified. Letters will go out ASAP to allow for the awarding of grant monies at the <br />December meeting. <br />3. OLD BUSINESS - time did not permit much discussion, will review in next meeting <br />a.
