<br />Lexington Housing Partnership <br />MeetingMinutesforThursday,October1,2016 <br />Attendees:HarrietCohen,NancyCorcoranRonchetti,JeriFoutter,MaryHaskell,WendyManz,Bob <br />Pressman,MelindaWalker,BetseyWeiss <br />Absent:JoePato,PaulLinton <br />Guests:JenniferVanKampen <br />ThemeetingwaschairedbyMelindaWalkerandtheminutesweretakenbyHarrietCohen.Themeeting <br />wascalledtoorderat7:35pm. <br />1.ApprovalofminutesofJune26,2015 <br />Afewtyposwerenotedandcorrectedintheminutes.Mr.Pressmanthenmovedapprovalofthe <br />minutes;Ms.Manzsecondedthemotion.Themotionpassedunanimously. <br />2.LexingtonHousingAuthority:(LHA)UpdateonExecutiveDirectorSearch/Walker <br />Ms.WalkerinformedtheLHPthatCaileenFoleyhasjustbeenappointedtheExecutiveDirectorof <br />theLexingtonHousingAuthority. <br />3.ReportonBoSConsiderationofHOMEfundsforRentalAssistance/Walker/Pressman <br />Ms.WalkerspokewithLizRust.TheHOMEprogramhasbeenrenamed. <br />4.ReportonrentsupplementplanconsiderationbytheBOS/Pressman <br />TheprogramisplannedtosupplythefirstƒƚƓƷŷ͸ƭrentandsecuritydepositforlowincome <br />families.Theprogramcallsforthesecuritydeposittobegiventothetenantwhenthetenantleaves <br />theapartment.TheBoardofSelectmendiscussedwhetheritwasappropriateforthesecurity <br />deposittobereturnedtothetenant.WhiletheBOSwasgenerallyfavorabletotheprogram,the <br />BOSisunlikelytoapprovetheprogramifthesecuritydepositisreturnedtothetenant. <br />TheprogramisrunningintosomedifficultiesinWalthambecausethelowestrentsexceedthe <br />allowedguidelines.ThismaybeanissueinLexington,aswell. <br />5.DiscussiononCPAfundingrequests/Pressman <br />Mr.PressmansaidthatthespecialTownMeetingWarrantwillincludethemoneytorehabthe <br />WrightFarmHouse.CPAapproved\[ĻǣI!.͸ƭrequestfor$200,000forrehaboftheWrightFarm <br />House.CarlValentereportedthatachemicalthatisnolongerpermittedtobeusedwasfoundat <br />thegroundsatWrightFarm.Mr.Valentedidnotknowwhetherthischemicalisonthehouse <br />grounds. <br />TownproposalsareexpectedbyOctober15,2015.Thefinaldeadlineforproposalsisnominally <br />November1,2015. <br />6.DiscussionofadvocacyforLearyproperty/Pressman <br />Mr.PressmanpointedouttotheBoardofSelectmanthatmanyyearshavepassedsincetheTown <br />agreedtoaffordablehousingontheLearyproperty.TheLHPhadpreviouslyrecommendedtothe <br />BOSthatCPAfundsberequestedforadesignandconstructiondrawings.Mr.Pressmansuggested <br />thatMs.WalkerrequesttimeontheBoardof{ĻƌĻĭƷƒĻƓ͸ƭagendatorecommendinperson,on <br />behalfoftheLHP,thatCPAfundsberequestedforthispurpose. <br /> <br />
