<br />MINUTES for: <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />Wednesday, February 18, 2015, 7:00 P.M. <br />Training Room <br />DPW, 201 Bedford St, Lexington, MA <br />Board of Health Members in Attendance: <br />Sharon MacKenzie, Burt Perlmutter, MD, Jay Flynn, JD <br />Health Division Attendees: <br />Gerard F. Cody, Health Director, Linda Rainville, Clerk <br />1.) Minutes of January 21, 2014 accepted with one correction <br /> <br />2.) Community Health <br /> a.) CHNA grant update <br /> 1.) Mental Health First Aid Training schedule - Mr. Cody reported the first training was done in <br />early January. Eleven people were certified. Initial training was presented to Guidance Counselors, one Police <br />Offier and D. Neylon, Public Health Nurse. The next training will be sometime in March. The training <br />sessions will be open to the public. <br /> b.) Community Health and Infectious Disease Report – The Board reviewed the Communicable Disease <br />report. The document titled “It’s Not Too Late to Get Vaccinated Against the Flu” will be posted on the town <br />website. <br />1.) Flu Activity update –Mr. Cody reported that over 2500 people attended the flu clinics this year. <br />3.) Environmental Health <br /> a.) Environmental Health Report – The Board reviewed the report submitted by K. Fox. <br /> <br />b.) Food Inspection program – The Beijing Chinese Restaurant has 10 critical violations. They have <br />hired Ms. Maureen Lee of Food Safety Solutions to work with them and do food audits/inspections. <br />c.) State Sanitary Code Case Review <br /> 1.) 12122 Main Campus Road – The resident complained about chronic dampness, moisture on <br />the windows. After inspection, the resident was instructed to wipe down the windows when the moisture <br />appears, that will rid them of the mold. There are cracks on the outside which will be repaired when the <br />weather allows. <br /> 2.) 2 Gould Road – The resident is running a lodging facility. There are building and zoning <br />requirements which the owner is claiming religious exemption. An inspection was done by F. Lonardo, <br />Building Commissioner. There are ten items that need to be corrected. This is an evolving case, the owner is <br />traveling out of state at this time. <br /> <br />4.) Emergency Preparedness <br />a.) Health and Medical Coordinating Coalition, (HMCC) update – Mr. Cody recapped that the State <br />wants to rename and merge regions. In our area it would be merging Region 4A with Region 4B. At this time <br />all plans are on hold for up to 6 months. <br />b.) CASPER training was postponed. The training will be rescheduled in March. <br /> 1.) Epi Ready Response team – Medical Reserve Corp is ready to respond if needed. <br /> <br />
