AD HOC GRAIN MILL ALLEY STEERING COMMITTEE <br />Members: Seven <br />Appointed by: Members and Chair Appointed by Board of Selectmen <br />Length of Term: Work Completed within One Year <br />Staff: Economic Development Director <br />Liaisons: Selectmen, Historic Districts Commission, Bank of America and Office <br />Condo Association <br />Description. The Ad hoc Grain Mill Alley Steering Committee (GMASC) shall work to develop a <br />conceptual design, supported by the abutting property owners, which enhances the alley's aesthetic, <br />offers new utility, and improves the safe passage of pedestrians between the bikeway and the <br />Center's retail corridor. To that end, the Conunittee shall work with the property owners at 1761 and <br />1775 Mass Avenue and the Historic Districts Commission (liaisons to the Conunittee) to develop an <br />agreed upon concept design and make a final recommendation to the Board of Selectmen, preferably <br />by November 2015 such that final design and construction funding can be included in the FY17 <br />capital budget request. <br />The Grain Mill Alley Steering Conunittee will: <br />• Present to and incorporate recommendations from the Historic Districts Commission. <br />• Decide on a final landscape design recommendation for that area that addresses the three <br />sections of the alley: 1) the intersection at the bikeway, 2) the area between the two buildings, <br />and 3) public right of way at Mass Avenue (in consultation with the DPW /Center Streetscape <br />project). <br />• Support installment of temporary street furniture, objects, and/or lighting to gauge the use <br />before and after the installation and inform the final recommendation. <br />Criteria for Membership. Members shall include: <br />1. Center Conunittee <br />2. Planning Board Member <br />3. Design Advisory Committee <br />4. Arts Community <br />5. Youth of the Community <br />6. Tourisin/Visitor Community <br />• <br />Prior to serving as a member of this Committee, appointees are required to: c. <br />1. Acknowledge receipt of the Summary of the Conflict of Interest Statute. Further, to contirtrre to <br />serve on the Committee the member must acknowledge annually receipt of the summary o the <br />Conflict of Interest Statute. Said summary will be provided by and acknowledged by the Town <br />Clerk. <br />2. Provide evidence to the Town Clerk that the appointee has completed the on -line training <br />requirement required by the Conflict of Interest Statute. Further, to continue to serve on the <br />Conunittee, the member must acknowledge every two years completion of the on -line training <br />requirement. <br />Ref: Charge adopted by the Board of Selectmen on May 11, 2015. <br />Board of Selectmen voted to designate as Special Municipal Employees on May 18, 2015. <br />
