Board of Assessor’s Meeting
November 1, 2013
A Meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on November 1, 2013 at 8:30 a.m.
located in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. In attendance:
William Jackson, Chairman, Edmund Grant, Member, Gregory Johnson, Member,
Robert Lent, Director of Assessing, Bruce Morgan, Senior Assessor, Rob Addelson and
Sandra Pentedemos, Administrative Assistant.
Consent Agenda
The meeting was called to order at 8:35 a.m.
Public Comment Time: Joseph Pato, resident and member of the Board of Selectmen
was present in audience. No questions or comments were asked of the Board of
Assessors.
The Board discussed the following Items on the Agenda:
The Board voted and approved the Fiscal Year 2015 Chapter 61A Application return
for the following parcel:

The Board voted and approved to seek the appropriations of $40,000 to fund the
ongoing Cyclical Inspections. With the town’s activity of sales, development of new
homes and construction to existing homes, the funding would overall capture a
greater number of parcels in a 6 year cycle rather than the 9 year requirement.
The Board voted to postpone action to release surplus from the Overlay account.
Robert Lent presented the Overlay revenue to the Board and discussed the potential
liabilities that remain at the Appellate Tax Board. Rob Addelson made a
recommendation to the Board to postpone action to release funds until the Chief
Executive Staff presents.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 3 – 0 roll call vote to move into
Executive Session to discuss pending Appellate Tax Board Cases, and previous
Meeting Minutes.

The Board discussed two (2) pending .
The Board reviewed and discussed previous Meeting Minutes that were held during the
month of April 2013. Recommendations were made for updates. No votes of the
minutes were taken.

Mike Tarello, the consultant of Vision Government Solutions, was available in-house and
could present a preliminary review of the Fiscal Year 2014 valuations.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn the Executive Session
and return to the regular meeting at 10:25 a.m.
New Business:
The Board of Selectmen will be holding the Annual Public Classification Hearing on
November 18, 2013 and asked that the Board of Assessors prepare and present their
recommendations packet for the Classification Hearing. Robert Lent and the Assessing
Staffing will prepare the literature.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 10:35 a.m.
The next scheduled Meeting will be held on November 18, 2013.
