Linda Vine has worked on draft policies for Rules of Behavior,
Bulletin Board and Materials Distribution Policy and Community Center Use Policy tailored
to the Community Center. These are some of the policies that will need to be in place for
opening of the Community Center, but further discussion tabled at this time.
4.General discussion of need to further develop Organizational Structure and Management plan
for the Community Center and to present our plan to the CCAC at the September meeting . In
looking at towns surveyed to date, three operate most similarly to Lexington CC vision:
Kittery, Harwich, and Natick. All of these centers have a designated Community Center
Director who oversees the daily operation of the CC, working with the services housed in the
CC (as recreation, human services, senior services) and the broader community to create an
open, vibrant, and active community center. It was the general consensus of those present that
there will need to be such a designated CC Director and support staff to facilitate functioning
of the Lexington CC. Harry and Betty will draft a plan for discussion at the next Governance
meeting.
th
5.Next meeting August 28 at 10 AM.
6.Meeting adjourned at 2:10 PM.
Respectfully submitted, Betty Borghesani, Chair
