<br />TOWNOFLEXINGTON <br />AdhocCommunityCenterAdvisoryCommittee(AhCCAC) <br />ProgramsGroup <br />Minutes of Meeting of July 1, 2014 <br />Final <br />A meeting of the Ad hoc Community Center Advisory Committee Programs Group was held <br />on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in theParker Room (G-15) at the Town Office <br />Building, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />Members Present: Laura Hussong, Chair; Jon Himmel, Karen Simmons (Director, Recreation <br />Department), Sheila Butts (Assistant Director, Recreation Department), Charlotte Rodgers (Director, <br />Human Services Department) <br />Members Absent: Florence Koplow, Leslie Zales <br />Also present: Barb Deveau, Senior Services Coordinator, Robert Pressman, citizen <br />Meeting called to order at 11:09 AM with a quorum of five. <br />Minutes: <br />The minutes of the May 12, 2014 meeting were revised for one incorrect date. Correction approved <br />unanimously. Motion: Sheila/Second: Charlotte. <br />The minutes of the June 23, 2014 meeting were approved unanimously, as amended by the group. <br />Motion: Jon/Second: Karen <br />Member Concerns <br />We discussed the issue of community-run activities. Charlotte and Karen believe staff other than <br />custodial is needed for problem solving when the core staff is not there, perhaps with a variable <br />schedule of some days and some evenings. Somebody also needs to be responsible for the calendar <br />of usage for all programs, so that rooms can be managed. <br />Master Matrix - Process <br />We completed our examination of the matrix with categories: services, socialization, and specialized. <br />Each entry was marked as one or more of: <br />D duplicate of item already on the list <br />K keep (things being done now and in budget) <br />N new (planned but not yet budgeted) <br />F future (something we hope to do at some point) <br />C something that will be 'citizen-run' (therefore not in budget of Rec or Hsvcs) <br />E expansion of a current offering (keyed as KE keep and expand) <br />S someplace else (will be offered at a non-community center location) <br />G general type activity\[these items will be ignored in the final offerings\] <br />Issues brought up during the meeting: <br /> <br />
