<br />MINUTES for: <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />Wednesday, April 16, 7:00 P.M. <br />Parker Room, Town Hall Building <br />1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br />Board of Health Members in Attendance: <br />Burt Perlmutter, MD, John J. Flynn, J.D., Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, David S. Geller, M.D <br />Health Division Attendees: <br />Gerard F. Cody, Health Director, Linda Rainville, Clerk <br />Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />1.) Minutes of March 19, 2014 . <br />approved as written <br />2.) Review of revised Smoking and Youth Access Regulation for adoption <br /> Mr. Cody spoke to the Board regarding several Bylaws in Chapter 97 that are related to <br />smoking and the tobacco purchase age which is set at 18 years of age. There is a Special Town <br />Meeting scheduled for June. Mr. Cody revealed that the Town Legal Council recommended that <br />the BOH not adopt the updated changes to the BOH regulation until the Bylaws in Chapter 97 <br />are updated or completely dismissed at Town Meeting. There may be a special Town Meeting in <br />June and Mr. Cody was planning to request that this matter be placed on the agenda. Mr. Flynn <br />mentioned his concern regarding including the ban of Blunt Wraps. There was a discussion <br />about obtaining more information about the ban of Blunt Wraps. A motion was made to <br />postpone the vote on the Tobacco Regulation Change. A motion was approved which stated in <br />part that a full Board should be present to show unison when it comes time to vote on the <br />updated BOH regulation. <br />3.) Community Health <br /> a.) Healthy Community CHNA grant update <br /> b.) Tick Disease awareness, Lexington resident, Elisa Abel spoke to the Board regarding <br />the Tick Task Force. She explained that several towns are involved with the Task Force, <br />including Acton, Bedford, Carlisle, Concord and Weston. Ms Abel told the Board that <br />flyers and brochures are available in several places in Lexington. <br /> c.) Second Hand Smoke in Multi Unit Housing MAPC, grant: Mr. Cody informed the <br />Board that several meetings with the contractor, Jeanine Flaherty have taken place and <br />that posters / pamphlets have been developed to promote the program. <br />4.) Environmental Health <br /> a.) Food Inspection Program <br />1) Residential Kitchen Permit <br /> Ralinda Young, 27 Oakland <br /> Did not appear will be on the June Agenda <br /> 2) Artistry on the Green <br /> Inn at Hastings Park, 2027 Mass Ave. <br /> <br />
