<br />TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br /> Governance/Operations Sub Committee of the <br />Ad hoc Community Center Advisory Committee (AhCCAC) <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Date: May 12, 2014 <br /> <br />Place and time: Estabrook Hall, Cary Memorial Building, 9:30 AM <br /> <br />Members Present: Betty Borghesani, Chair, Florence Koplow, Harry Forsdick, Linda Vine <br /> <br />Members Absent: Koren Stembridge <br /> <br />Also Present: Bob Pressman <br />________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.Meeting called to order at 10 AM. Meeting moved from Estabrook Hall to Stone Room because <br />of conflict in scheduling two meetings in same room. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Correspondence from George Gamota noted and included below. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Discussion touched on management of CC. If there is a CC Director, how will that person relate <br />to Recreation, Human Services, Youth Services groups, as well as to the general public? To <br />whom will CC Director report in the town for organizational issues. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Discussion of telephone survey of similar community centers to determine their policies. <br />Suggested that the survey should be time-limited and require at most 15 minutes, director of <br />community centers would be contacted by phone requesting their input, a convenient time for <br />completing the survey by phone would be scheduled. Survey questions would be emailed to the <br />directors for review before the appointed call. <br />Questions for survey included: <br /> <br /> <br />a)Governance topics <br />What departments are housed in CC <br />Is there a specific director of the CC <br />Can you send us an organizational chart <br />Are there specific governance document/by-laws and can you send them <br /> <br /> <br />b)Building use <br />Sign-up for space use policy and priority <br />Fees for use – sliding scale, differences for town vs public, non-profit vs profit <br />Is there a policy for use by non-town residents <br />Any enterprise fund activities <br />Membership vs drop-in, fee involved <br /> <br /> <br />
