BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br /> Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 7:00 P.M. <br /> Parker Room (G-15), Town Office Building <br /> 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br /> Board of Health Members in Attendance: <br /> Burt M. Perlmutter, M.D., John J. Flynn, J.D., David S. Geller, M.D. <br /> Board of Health Members not in Attendance: <br /> Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Chair; Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM <br /> Health Department Attendees: <br /> Gerard F. Cody, Health Director <br /> Linda Rainville, Clerk <br /> Burt M. Perlmutter, M.D. called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. <br /> 1.) Anaerobic Digester (AD) Regulations <br /> Bruce Haskell, CDM Smith, presented the MassDEP Regulations for Solid Waste Management Facility <br /> Site Assignment and Recycling, Composting and Conversion Permits. The Board had many questions <br /> that have been asked of Mr. Haskell, Lexington Selectmen and AD subcommittee. The major question <br /> is how public health concerns such as noise and odor will be addressed and by whom (Town or State or <br /> no-one). There was a lengthy discussion about the type of permit needed. They also discussed how the <br /> site would be regulated and who would be responsible, the Town or the State. <br /> 2.) Minutes of June 12, 2013 <br /> The Board reviewed the minutes of June 12, 2013. Geller motioned to approve minutes with one <br /> correction. Flynn seconded. All approved. <br /> 3.) Community Health <br /> • David Neylon presented the Community Health Report. This year there will be twice the amount of <br /> flu vaccine available. <br /> • Brookhaven will be the drop off spot for medical waste. <br /> • Mr. Neylon reviewed the Survey Results Summary, Lexington Healthy Communities Project. Three <br /> hundred and three community members responded to the survey. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of <br /> those surveyed were Lexington residents, fourteen percent (14%)worked in town, and eight percent <br /> (8%)were visitors. <br /> 4.) Environmental Health Report <br /> a.) Food Inspection Program <br /> The Board reviewed the Health Report/Food Inspections Report submitted by Kathy Fox. <br /> 1) Clover, Megan Pleggi <br /> Left without presenting to the Board <br /> b.) State Sanitary Code Case Review <br /> 1) Rodent Complaint NH13-22 <br /> Mr. Cody reported a letter was sent to the owner of the building. The building foundation has been <br /> sealed and rat traps have been placed around the area. <br />
