Cody, Health Director <br /> Brenda Tabak, Clerk <br /> Wendy Heiger-Bernays called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 1. Minutes of March 13, 2013 (to be approved at date tbd) <br /> 2. Community Health Reports/Update <br /> (A) Document: Community Health Report April 2013, by David Neylon, RN <br /> • Communicable Diseases Reported: Norovirus(l), Hepatitis B(l), LTBI (1), Influenza(3) <br /> • Community Health: The Health Division hosted Medical Waste Day which took place <br /> Saturday, April 6th from 9:00am to 12:00 pm, where 104 residents dropped off <br /> expired/unwanted medication, sharps, syringes, and lancets. Residents dropping off <br /> sharps were offered new sharp containers. Seven large boxes of medications and 6 large <br /> boxes of sharps were collected. Members of the Lexington Lions Club also volunteered <br /> at the event. The next Medical Waste Drop off day will be Wednesday, June 5th from <br /> 5pm to 7pm behind the Town Office Building <br /> • Massachusetts Immunization Registry: Massachusetts will the 491h state in the country <br /> to have a centralized immunization registry, referred to as Massachusetts Immunization <br /> Information System (MIIS). Soon all vaccinations administered in the state will be <br /> required to be entered into the registry <br /> • "Lexington Healthy Communities" Update: The Massachusetts Department of Public <br /> Health will supply the Health Division with an MPH candidate summer intern to help <br /> with data analysis for the Lexington Healthy Communities project. <br /> (B) MSPP INTERFACE <br /> Documents: Lexington Healthy Communities Project Implemention Phase Suggestion; <br /> Interface Activity Report 6/l/12-1/31/13; Lexington Healthy Community Program <br /> • Goal is to strengthen community health through improving Community Connectivity <br /> among neighbors, agencies & services, residents and improving communication. <br /> Budget and Time for Phase II is $25,000 over fifteen (15) months October 2013 <br /> through December 2014. <br /> • Mental Health Top Priorities. In MSPP Interface, there are 12 communities involved <br /> in metro Boston area participating. <br /> 1 <br />
