<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Lexington Board of Health Meeting, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Town Office Building, Room G-15, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br /> <br />Board of Health Attendees: Wendy Heiger-Bernays, Chair; David S. Geller; <br />John J. Flynn <br />Health Department Attendees: Gerard F. Cody, Health Director; Ann Belliveau, Health <br />Clerk/Office Manager <br /> <br />Wendy Heiger-Bernays called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of September 19, 2012. Geller motioned to approve the <br />minutes with correction. Flynn seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Community Health Update/Report – The Board reviewed the Community Health Report <br />for October 2012 prepared by David Neylon, R.N., and follow-ups for the five (5) <br />communicable diseases had been done in a timely manner. <br /> <br />Environmental Health Report <br /> <br /> Clover Taipei – Cody informed that Board that Clover Taipei requested relief in <br />the form of a variance from the use of a three bay sink; Food Code 4-301.12. After a <br />discussion, Geller motioned that the Lexington Board of Health grants the variance <br />request from the requirement of a three compartment sink as listed under Food Code 4- <br />301.12 to Clover Taipei, 211 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA 02420. The <br />variance applies to the current owner. In the event of a change in ownership, the variance <br />request is null and void. Flynn seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Clover Taipei – Cody advised the Board that Clover Taipei had completed a food <br />plan review with the Health Division and all necessary equipment has been installed <br />according to code with the exception of the three bay sink. After a discussion, Geller <br />motioned that the Lexington Board of Health grants an annual permit to operate a food <br />establishment to Clover Taipei at 211 Massachusetts Avenue. Flynn seconded. All <br />approved. <br /> <br /> Lexington Power Yoga - Yolanda Taylor appeared before the Board to request a <br />Variance from the requirement of using ANSI certified equipment as listed under Food <br />Code 4-205.10 to Lexington Power Yoga, 1762 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br />02420. The variance applies to the current owner. In the event of a change in ownership, <br />the variance request is null and void. <br /> <br /> Lexington Power Yoga – Cody informed the Board that Yolanda Taylor is <br />requesting a permit to operate a retail food establishment at Lexington Power Yoga. <br />All pre-operational inspections have been completed and there have been no issues or <br />complaints since the pre-operational inspection. After a discussion, Heiger-Bernays <br />motioned that the Lexington Board of Health grants an annual permit to operate a retail <br />food establishment to Lexington Power Yoga at 1762 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, <br />MA 02420. Geller seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Vine Brook Tavern – Marcus Palmer of the Vine Brook Tavern on Waltham <br />Street, to describe his proposed tavern featuring American comfort food which will be <br />reasonably priced. Palmer stated that his manager and chefs will be ServeSafe Certified. <br />Cody informed Mr. Palmer of the local grease trap regulations as well as the free PIC <br />training offered by the Health Division. Palmer plans on recycling the grease. Cody <br />informed Palmer that he will need to request a food establishment permit from the Board <br />of Health when his establishment is completed. <br /> <br />
