<br />Lexington Council for the Arts (LCA) <br />Minutes for Meeting of January 7, 2008 <br /> <br />Room 111, Town Office Building <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Barbara Ciampa, Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes; Mary Trometer, Treasurer; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; <br />Zoe Perry- Wood; Jan Goplerud; Jackie Hawkinson; Bill Janowitz, Janet Post, Secretary <br />Guests: Kerry Brandon; Candy McLauglin <br />Absent: Jonathan Cue; Myron Rosenblum <br /> <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> Chair Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:06 PM <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary's Report <br /> The minutes for the December 3rd meeting were accepted. <br /> <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report <br /> <br /> There is a balance of $10,139.82 in the treasury. The treasurer's report was accepted. <br /> <br />Grant Business: <br /> <br /> We are up to date with the grant process. The grant money arrives in mid to late January. Approval letters <br />will go out. <br /> <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />-MCC gathering on March 12 will be attended by some of the council. Janet will organize the carpool and register <br />attendees at MCC. <br />-Zoe will form a committee to nominate a new chair to replace Barbara who would like to step down but remain <br />on the board. The nominating committee will also put forth the names of the candidates of for the corresponding <br />secretary, recording secretary and treasurer. <br />-Sirarpi will get an update for us about Art Walk after she gets their minutes. <br />-Brief update on our website from Sirarpi. <br /> <br />Guests Carrie Brandon from the Lexington Library and Candy Mc Laughlin who represents the Town <br /> <br />Hall Signage Committee: <br /> <br />Kerry Brandon, President of the Library Foundation reported on the Donor Wall project at the front entrance of <br />the library. THE LAC had designated $5000 for this project. A committee has reviewed four designs and will <br />submit recommendations to the Library Foundation. Barbara has represented LAC on this committee. <br /> <br />Candy reported that Pat Fisher from Fisher Associates has been hired as consult to the town hall on their new <br />signage. She reviewed an outline for the project with us. The arts council remains in an advisory capacity <br />regarding the art on display in town call that was purchased by previous Lexington Arts Councils. <br /> <br />Business for Next Meeting <br /> <br />The Patrons Fund and Nominating Committee and Vote. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
