Convened at 7.50 present Tom, Narain, Shirley and Sheldon
1. Tom asked that committee should respond to Blue Ribbon Report in next
couple of weeks.
2. Discussion scheduling two more meetings
3. Moved to recreation committee
Update received on current projects
- 150K Harrigton field project stopped until school commitee decides
- Southerland done thru DPW. No savings even though used DPW, quote was
exactly the same as from outside contractors -- DPW labor costs
involved overtime
- 1.7 million Athletic facility proceeding ahead, may need 100K for
elevator
New projects
- 50K per year needed towards non-revenue activities. Enterprise funds
not enough. Golf Course surplus 300-350K on top line of 760K but planned
upgrade of the course needs most of it.
- 400K water hole problem may become an emergency but currently a place
holder pending study
4. Moved to CEC meeting again
General discussion on R.O.I of golf course. Town invested 11 million,
when
does it see some return? Residents are not getting a break in terms of
price, should we apply some ROI?
