<br />Lexington Arts Council (LAC) Meeting <br />November 13, 2006 <br /> <br />Present: Barbara Ciampa, Jackie Hawkinson, Bill Janovitz, Janet Post, Mary Trometer <br /> <br />Chairperson Barbara Ciampa called this special meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.on Monday, <br />th <br />November 13 in Room 111, Town Office Building. The purpose of the meeting was to <br />further discuss LAC grant applications and make decisions on disapproval and approval <br />of funding. <br /> <br /> It was clarified that school PASS grant applications are for projects that will take <br />place off school grounds, such as field trips. Funding for school projects that will take <br />place on school grounds during school hours should be applied for on LCC application <br />forms. <br /> <br /> The Massachusetts Arts Council’s cultural grant allocation to Lexington is $4230. <br />Of 39 grant applications that we received, 25 were disapproved. Janet Post will send <br />letters of disapproval to those applicants. The letters will include instructions for <br />reconsideration. Disapproved applicants will have two weeks to appeal the decision. <br /> <br /> Of the remaining 13 applicants, two were fully funded and 11 were partially <br />funded. <br /> <br /> Barbara Ciampa, a member of the Lexington Symphony Orchestra’s Advisory <br />Board, and Janet Post, a Board Member of the Lexington Pops Chorus, recused <br />themselves from voting on the respective two applications. <br /> <br /> Copies of all applications and details of decisions will be kept on file with other <br />LAC materials in the Town Office Building. <br /> <br /> The Council will meet in Room 111 of the Town Office Building at 7:00 p.m., <br />Monday, December 04, 2006, when final decisions on amounts to be granted to the <br />approved applicants will be made.
