<br />Lexington Council for the Arts <br />Minutes for Meeting of February 4, 2008 <br /> <br />Room 111, Town Office Building <br /> <br />Present: Barbara Ciampa, Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser;Jan <br />Goplerud;; Bill Janowitz, Janet Post, Secretary;Jonathan Cue; Myron Rosenblum; Jackie <br />Hawkinson Absent: Mary Trometer,Treasurer; Zoe Perry-Wood <br /> <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> <br /> Chair Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM <br />Secretary's Report <br /> <br /> The minutes for the January 7th meeting were accepted. <br />Treasurer's Report <br /> There is a balance of $9539.82 in the treasury. The treasurer's report was accepted. We have <br />not received the annual money from MCC yet. Acceptance letters went out to grant applicants <br />last Friday. <br /> <br />Grant Business: <br /> We are up to date with the grant process. The grant money arrives in mid to late January. <br />Approval letters will go out. <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> -Myron will touch base with the town about keeping us updated about the artwork in town hall <br />and what they have decided to do with it. <br /> <br />-All current board members will continue on in their current positions with the exception of <br />Barbara, our current Chair. A meeting will be held in March to discuss Barbara carrying on in a <br />new roll as co-chair potentially with Zoe Perry-Wood. <br /> <br />-Grant sub-committee members will meet to discuss guidelines for the application process in the <br />spring. <br /> <br />-Mass Poetry Outreach program is looking for poets to submit work. <br /> <br />th <br />-There will be 4-5 board members attending the March 12 gathering at the state house for the <br />MCC and trip the ICA after lunch. <br /> <br />-Board discussed how to carry on from here with raising funds for the Patron’s Fund. One idea is <br />to first start an artist registry so that we can create a listing of local artists in hope of creating <br />more of an artist’s community. During the next month board members will research websites that <br />might be appropriate for the registry and look into getting an estimate for a site. <br /> <br />-Sirarpi updated us on Art Walk, which will held in May for 2 weeks. It includes Memorial Day <br />weekend and Lexington’s Discovery Day. <br /> <br /> Business for Next Meeting <br /> Website <br /> Adjournment - The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
