<br />Lexington Board of Health, January 13, 2005, Meeting Minutes <br />G-15, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA <br /> <br />Attendees: <br /> <br />Board of Health: James Fearnside, Chair; Burt Perlmutter; Sharon MacKenzie, <br />Wendy Heiger-Bernays <br /> <br />Health Department: Derek Fullerton, Kathy Fox <br /> <br />The meeting began at 7:00 PM. There was no public participation. <br /> <br />Fearnside opened the public hearing for Board of Health Fee Increases. There was no public <br />participation. Perlmutter motioned to accept the fee increases as proposed. MacKenzie <br />seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Fearnside asked the Board to review the minutes of December 9, 2004. MacKenzie motioned to <br />accept the minutes. Perlmutter seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Fearnside asked the Board to review the minutes of December 2, 2004. Heiger-Bernays <br />motioned to accept the minutes. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Heiger-Bernays asked about the housing issues at 50 Rindge. Fox informed the Board that a <br />criminal complaint will be pursued in order to keep the case open. The tenant on the first floor <br />has been advised of the housing complaint but wishes to remain a tenant. The second floor <br />apartment is vacant. <br /> <br />Heiger-Bernays began a discussion concerning the Article 40 Ad Hoc Committee Status. <br />Heiger-Bernays feels the Health Department should be proactive and take a co-lead in education <br />via letters to the newspaper, website, cable, PTA, etc. <br /> <br />Fearnside announced his resignation from the Board of Health as of February 28, 2005. <br /> <br />Heiger-Bernays acknowledged Fullerton’s appointment as Health Director. The Board looks <br />forward to working with Fullerton. The Board asked for Fullerton’s short and long-term goals. <br />The Board also asked what role Mascoop will play in helping Fullerton achieve the goals. <br /> <br />Perlmutter motioned to adjourn.
