ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and <br /> evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.) <br /> According to a 1909 plan, this building seems tQ have been originally <br /> the portion of the carriage house complex labeled shed, hen house, and dwelling. <br /> A simple structure, it nevertheless echoes the design of the carriage house it <br /> once abutted, in the broad arch on the facade. <br /> HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state <br /> history and how the building relates to the development of the community.) <br /> This building was constructed as part o-f an outbuilding complex on the <br /> 3enamin T. Brown estate, one of Lexington's most elaborate properties in the <br /> late nineteenth century. The property was sold by Hallie Blake in 1925 to <br /> t°es:'_ey Wadrlan.
