Some casement windows & 8 over 1. <br /> A verb late example of the picturesque architecture with which the Meriam <br /> Street area was developed in the late nineteenth century, this building, none- <br /> theless, has typical asymmetrical massing, wooden detailing in the wall dormer, <br /> and extensive use of fieldstone. Only the use of stucco as wall finish where <br /> shingles would have been used earlier, sets this building apart from the norm. <br /> HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (explain the role owners played in local or state history <br /> and how the building relates to the development of the community) <br /> Built by Harvey & MabF,{ Winlock in 1912 & designed by^Stewart, Boston architect. r <br /> They moved from Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Winlock was part owner of the foundry firmer <br /> Barbour-Stockwell Co. He was much interested in town affairs serving as town <br /> meeting member most of the fifty years he resided here until his death; served <br /> on the appropriation committee & also was a cemetery commissioner. They raised <br /> a family of 5 daughters, all born at home. The Winlock family sold their home <br /> to Charles & Ann Spaulding in 1963.
