ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and
evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.)
_ Part of Five Fields, a community of contemporary houses designed by The
Architects Collaborative (TAC) , this house is distinguished, first, because it
incorporates part of and is sited next to the foundation of the Cutler barn (see
503 Concord Avenue form and sketch map below) . This house is also distinctive
- in that it was designed to be built as a prefab: the components were made in
Framingham, trucked in, and the house was framed in a day. The house is designed
in two parts separated by an interior courtyard: a bedroom area at the front
(street) end and living/dining and kitchen at the back.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state
history and how the building relates to the development of the community.)
This house was designed by a
co NERD ASE. member of The Architects Collaborative
(TAC) as his own residence and is
significant because of its association
i with the Cutler barn and because it is
an example of a custom-design house in
3"Iznl Five Fields (see Five Fields area form) .
— FounlUa--DN i"i rDlnwOgTton! ,1
1 I
146LAS E
D2ILLIrD IW rr J
BIBLIOGRAPHY and/or REFERENCES (name of publication, author, date and publisher)
1
Personal communication from H.
