ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and <br /> evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.) <br /> This substantial Italianate house retains its oricinal trip.. Decorative <br /> features include a round-headed window in the gable; broad eaves and returns; <br /> broad molded frieze boards; a pilaster-like treatment of the dormer window on------ <br /> the <br /> n ----the left hand side; an entrance porch with chamfered square hosts; and a side <br /> porch with chamfered posts. The Chippendale balustrade across the front and-_----- <br /> right side porch is probable a later addition to the structure. <br /> HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local dr state <br /> history and how the building relates to the development of the community.) <br /> This house was built in 1872 by David A. Tuttle, a nro=inent nineteenth- <br /> century Lexington builder, for F.F. Raymond, one o the developers of the <br /> Clarke/Raymond streets area. By 1889 the house was owned by the heirs of Larkin. <br /> Harrington and remained in the Harrincton fa-ily for r;any years.
