Town Report: The Committee rescheduled their photo to January 13 Regarding the draft report on Committee activity, Dan suggested regrouping into two bullets points, one for the vision and one for the recommendations of the Demographics Change TF. Discuss Focus Groups Results o Consolidated input: Peter said the Committee should use the focus group feedback for developing the community survey. He also said it would be good to give all the feedback to the groups who participated. This could be done by putting a link to the results on the website. Marian suggested posting them with the caveat that it is just preliminary data and not necessarily a true representation of the community. George said the Community Center Task Force is considering focus groups as well, so he suggested they discuss this with the Committee. Candy said Laura Hussong contacted Fernando earlier, but her schedule precludes attending a 2020 Vision meeting. o Next steps: Candy said Carl wants to meet about the potential survey in January, after he has submitted the Town Manager's recommended budget. Regarding the draft survey, Marian said this is a very preliminary version. Dan said a major concern regarding the survey is to find some way to get a representative sample of the Town. Marian said they are hesitant to have both a hard -copy version and an internet version. She asked if it can be considered Town business in order to use email addresses; Candy said this is a policy decision. The draft does not include trade -off questions because they often compare apples to oranges. Peter said the Committee needs to keep in mind that it is easy for people to say everything is important and we aren't doing a good job at anything. Peter suggested adding funding questions, including sustainability in the environmental questions, including a question regarding overregulation of developments, not including sports fields in the diversity section and clearly specifying municipal elections in the voting question. Follow -up on Demographic Change TF Recommendations: Dan said the Task Force recommendations fall into two categories, the growing Asian- American population and changing age profile. He suggested the Committee focus on the growing Asian- American population by implementing recommendation number 4, setting up a task force. Peter said this can be done at a future meeting.
