• Committee members have their assignments for the morning.
• Suzie took the committee through the program and pointed out ways we can
enhance it by perhaps saying a few words when leaving the wreath at the
Westview monument, inviting someone at the Fire Department to recite the
firefighters' prayer at this stop, giving a brief explanation of Medal of Honor
recipient Private Thomas Cosgrove at Munroe Cemetery, etc. She will bring her
suggestions to the next meeting for review. In addition, she will ask DPW to
provide a microphone.
• The Addresses -- Suzie will ask Sam Doran to invite someone to recite
Gettysburg; Bill Mix will recite General Logan's.
Other Business
• Band of liberty Concert
• Town Celebrations Committee will sponsor the concert, which is
scheduled for Saturday, June 30th, 7 pm at the gazebo.
• Lexington 300th Celebration
• There is a community meeting this evening at 7 pm.
• Suzie talked about some of the events that are being planned.
• Patriots' Day 2012
• Discussion is already underway about next year's parade. It will be a
larger event and logistics need to be planned for expanded parking
needs, etc.
• Suzie thinks it best that we use paper for next year's parade applications,
foregoing the online process. Deadline dates will be earlier.
Meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm
Respectfully submitted by Sandy Podgorski
2
