Ovs MORHi <br />1775 <br />� r p <br />Q � k <br />U 2 o C1 w <br />APRIL 19TH <br />FX 1 N 6 <br />APPROVED MEETING MINUTES <br />Committee Name: Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee <br />Date, Time, and Location: April 12, 2012, Rm. 111, Town Hall <br />Members Present: Stew Kennedy (Acting Chair), John Frey, Bob Hausslein (Fol-B <br />Chair), Mike Tabaczynski, George Gagliardi, Marita Hartshorn, Sandra Shaw <br />(Recreation Committee Liaison), and Jerry Van Hook. <br />Members Absent: Peggy Enders, Laurel Carpenter <br />Minutes: The March minutes were accepted as distributed. <br />Center Streetscape and Bike Parking on Mass Ave: Town meeting on April 11 t" <br />approved money for the streetscape design in Lexington Center including money for a <br />traffic study. It is not clear what portion of the money is for the traffic study and what <br />portion for design. The economic development officer is working to obtain approval <br />from various town committees to install a summer weekend bike corral in a parking <br />space in front of Ride Studio Cafe. <br />DCR Grant for Minuteman Bikeway User Information: The town received two <br />proposals for the DCR grant for design of signage and other amenities along the <br />bikeway. Representatives from the bike committees in Lexington (Peggy Enders), <br />Bedford (Terry Gleason), and Arlington (Joey Glushko), working with John Livsey and <br />Dave Pinsonneault, selected Toole Design Group. <br />Plans for Bikeway Drainage and Root Control: The contractor continues to do good <br />work on drainage problems. Root barriers have not yet begun. General resurfacing <br />will wait for 2013. <br />Bicycle Safety Awareness Week (April 22 -29): The committee developed the <br />following slogans to be displayed during the week on the Police Department message <br />boards: <br />
