MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />September 22, 2009 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office, Town Office Building <br />PRESENT: Norman Cohen, George Burnell, Alan Wrigley, Father Colletti, and Charlotte <br />Rodgers, Human Services Director <br />1. Approximate amount of money available as of 8/31/09: Income: $32,537.00 <br />Principal: $70,578.65 <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Charlotte Rodgers gave the Human Services report. The Department receives many <br />requests for money from the Human Services Fund. During the summer months there <br />is less demand for help with utility bills. The staff tries to work with applicants to <br />come up with plans for how they will meet future expenses. We will continue to <br />monitor the needs of the Human Services Fund and provide additional funding if it is <br />needed. <br />b. Voted 4 -0 to approve our participation in the holiday gift certificate program. We <br />will take a poll vote to approve the amount of necessary funds when we have more <br />information in the late fall. <br />c. Voted 4 -0 to provide $500 for Stop and Shop gift cards. Father Colletti again said he <br />would donate some cards. <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. ECLA Request — spring flower barrels - $1,170.00 — APPROVED 4 -0. <br />b. Norman Cohen will work on holiday request letter. <br />4. The minutes of the June 23, 2009 meeting were approved 4 -0. <br />5. The next meeting will be December 15, 2009. <br />
