MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />June 15, 2010 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office <br />Present: Norman Cohen, George Burnell, Dan Lucas, Alan Fields, Alan Wrigley and Emily <br />Lavine, Assistant Director for Family Services, Human Services department <br />1. Approximate amount of money available as of 5/31/10: Income $38,168.61 <br />Principal $75,312.61 <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. The Human Services Fund needs to <br />be replenished. Alan Fields will speak to David Williams to confirm that the Trustees <br />of Public Trusts will be making the usual semi - annual distribution to the Human <br />Services Emergency Checking Account shortly. Since our last meeting the Human <br />Services Department has had many requests for scholarships for Recreation <br />Department programs. These scholarships are funded through the Recreation <br />Department. Requests for emergency aid have been down recently, partly because of <br />counseling on how to solve financial problems. <br />b. Ratified Poll Vote —Oil Bill — $649.71 — Approved 5 -0 <br />c. Ratified Poll Vote — Avalon Rent - $496.00 — Approved 5 -0 <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. Ratified Poll Vote — ELCA Holiday Wreaths - $1470.00 — Approved 4 -1 (Burnell <br />opposed) <br />b. Ratified Poll Vote - Trustees of Public Trusts Request for barrels and plantings in <br />center - $8,725 — Approved 5 -0 <br />c. Discussion of Use of Funds —The Board had a general discussion about the <br />beautification projects the Fund has supported and the benefits that endure to the <br />community. <br />4. Next Meeting — September 21, 2010 at 4:3 0 p.m. <br />5. Approved the December 15, 2009 and March 16, 2010 minutes — Approved 5 -0. <br />
