Lexington 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee <br />St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church — indicated plans for a June 13-14 event featuring <br />food & International dance <br />DISCOVERY DAY UPDATE —Susan Rockwell reported the presence of Lexington 3 00 at <br />Discovery Day festivities provided good publicity, secured sign -ups of persons interested <br />in the celebration. <br />BOOKMARKS — Previously printed bookmarks will be distributed for the Cary Library <br />summer reading, at the Elephant Trunk Book Store, Senior Center, lobbies of <br />Lexington's 3 hotels, National Park Center Visitor's Center, Wales Copy Center & <br />Michelson's Shoe Store. <br />PUBLICITY — Denise Dube awaits any and all information that can be used for publicity. <br />CALENDAR —Calendar of events hoped to be published in late August, to include web <br />publishing to be published in late August. <br />WEB SITE— Dick Kollen is reviewing information to identify anything appropriate and of <br />interest for web posting. <br />VOICE MAIL Box — There may be a voice mailbox available within the town's current <br />phone system. Donna Hooper will inquire and report. <br />COMMUNITY FORUM— The school calendar should be checked to identify any major <br />conflict with the scheduled community forum for September 21 St . <br />Possible other entities, groups to invite to the Forum — <br />Clergy Association, Senior Center, Hayden Recreation Center, <br />Town Boards /Committees <br />OTHER ISSUES: <br />• Clock Makers — Chittenden & Burr <br />• History of Science & Technologies <br />• Involvement of Incorporations <br />• Outreach to business, Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Retailers' Assoc., Banners <br />• Follow -up on Suggestions — forms /proposals — confirmations <br />*Expenses — Donna is recording expenses <br />FUNDRAISING— We continue to seek Fundraising Coordinator. <br />Minutes of February 16, April 6 and May 4 adopted. <br />Next meeting — August 8, 2011 — 4:00 p.m. — Ellen Stone Room. <br />ACTION STEPS: <br />• 8:30 a.m. — meet, summarize & send out proposals <br />• Lexington Education Foundation — November 7, 2012 — focus on Lexington history <br />• Field & Garden Club — <br />• Liberty Ride — specialty ride for celebration <br />Meeting adjourned 5:30 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Donna Hooper, Scribe <br />Lexington 300 Anniversary 2 <br />
