Meeting Minutes
Community Center Task Force
Meeting December 14, 2011
Date:
Meeting Time / 7:30 pm
Location
Public Services Building
Cafeteria
201 Bedford Street
Members in Laura Hussong, chair
Attendance: Jim Goell, vice chair
Florence Koplow,
Tim Dugan, Sophia
Ho
Liaisons in Nancy Adler, LWV
Attendance: Jane Trudeau, FCOA
Sandy Schwartz, LexFUN
Chris Ammer, FCaryLib
Absent: Lisah Rhodes, Betty
Borghesani
Guest: George Burnell, Board of
Selectmen
The meeting began with introductions to welcome our new liaison, Sandy Schwartz. LexFUN is
a very active organization with 500 families and 70 Board members.
We discussed how to begin organizing for conducting focus groups beginning in January.
George Burnell wanted to talk about his likely reactions to our upcoming presentation to the
Board of Selectmen, scheduled for January 9, 2012.
We returned to the topic of focus groups, with Sandy saying LexFUN would be good candidates
for an online survey rather than focus groups.
Teens: Tim suggested a mini focus group with the Lexington Youth and Family Services board,
he says he could get time on their agenda.
We discussed the idea we've been kicking around of an advisory board for the community
center, and who might be a part of this board.
The committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2011 and
November 30, 2011 meetings.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM. We will conduct a doodle poll for the next meeting time, to
be after the January 9 presentation.
Respectfully submitted by Laura Hussong
