Intern Project Discussion with Felix Zemel, REHS/RS – Cody introduced Felix Zemel, <br />REHS/RS, to the Board of Health. Felix mentioned he is a MPH student at the B.U. <br />School of Public Health and he is working with Cody and the Board on the proposed <br />Anaerobic Digester at Hartwell Avenue. Zemel stated his presence at the meeting was <br />to gather input from the Board about the landfill site and what they would like addressed <br />to assist in the process in going forward with the landfill site. Zemel will create a list of <br />the Board’s concerns relative to public Health which should be passed on to CDM. <br />He would also like to make a presentation to the Board of Selectmen and to prepare a <br />public document for Town Meeting. A discussion followed concerning the <br />preparation of regulations and the permitting process for the proposed Anaerobic <br />Digester because of public health concerns. <br /> <br />Community Health Report <br /> <br />Cody reviewed the Community Health Report prepared by David Neylon, R.N., and <br />follow-ups for the four communicable diseases had been done in a timely manner. Cody <br />also mentioned that the Health Division, in collaboration with the Lexington Public <br />Schools had expanded our school based vaccination program to include two school <br />clinics this flu season. These will be family style clinics where parents, caregivers, <br />students and siblings can be vaccinated. Metco students will be vaccinated by the Public <br />th <br />Health Nurse before their bus leaves in the afternoon of November 30 and during X <br />block at 8:00 a.m. on December 7, 2011. <br /> <br />Cody also mentioned that the Health Division will continue collaboration with the <br />th <br />Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston on Spring Street this year on December 4. <br /> <br />80 Oak Street – Cody advised the Board that he had received some complaints regarding <br />80 Oak Street which has been vacant since 1970’s. There had been a fire at this residence <br />and the owners moved to Maine. The Building Commissioner took a lead for the Town <br />and found certain items which need to be addressed. There was also a leaking oil tank in <br />the basement. DEP was notified. An order to correct letter will be sent to the owners. <br /> <br /> MacKenzie motioned to adjourn. Geller seconded.
