<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />October 20, 2011 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Linda Dixon, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Wayne Miller, <br />Sandy Podgorski, Jim Shaw and Bob Tracey <br />Members not present <br />Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Bill Mix, Julie Miller, Henry Murphy, Charlie Price and <br />Dave Taylor <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br /> <br />Minutes of the October 6, 2011 meeting were approved with a few changes. <br /> <br />Committee member contact information is still being updated. <br /> <br />Committee meeting dates are now set through June 7, 2012. <br /> <br />Joe Alfonse, Lexington’s new veterans’ agent, introduced himself to the <br />committee. He talked about providing outreach to town veterans and expressed <br />interest in helping veterans engage with the Town Celebrations Committee and <br />community. <br />Veterans’ Day 2011 updates <br /> <br />Invitations have been mailed and all approvals for the day are in. <br /> <br />Jim Shaw presented the name of a nominee for chief marshal. A motion was <br />made and accepted to invite his suggestion to serve. <br /> <br />All groups have been invited. <br /> <br />Wreaths were ordered. <br /> <br />Temple Isaiah’s Rabbi Howard Jaffe will be the clergy representative. Mary <br />Gillespie and Dick Crogan will be available to welcome the rabbi at the green. <br /> <br />Mary talked with Jeff Leonard about a vocalist. We have no name yet. <br />1 <br /> <br />
