HOUSING PARTNERSHIP BOARD <br />Members: 17 voting members and 3 liaisons <br />Appointed By: Selectmen (14 member appointments); Designated Board and <br />Committees (3 member appointments) <br />Length of Term: Three years <br />Appointments Made: September 30 <br />Meeting Times: As Posted <br />Description: The Lexington Housing Partnership is charged by the Board of Selectmen to <br />promote and support affordable housing activities and to recommend appropriate actions. The <br />purpose of the Partnership will be to bring together the many committees, groups and dedicated <br />individuals that have been working on housing issues, needs and production to create a unified, <br />focused approach to achieve the broadly shared goal: affordable housing in Lexington. (See <br />further description in attachment A) <br />Criteria for Membership: In order to create a unified, focused approach to affordable housing <br />it is important to draw members from a broad spectrum of housing advocates. <br />The Housing Partnership will consist of 17 voting members, each appointed for a term of three <br />years. Governmental Entities will be asked to name one of their members as a voting member of <br />the partnership, or as a liaison to the partnership, as outlined below. The Board of Selectmen <br />will appoint all other members. <br />Alternates who can vote if the member is unable to attend a meeting may be designated. <br />Alternates will be encouraged to attend all meetings, but do not need to attend all meetings in <br />order to vote in the absence of the member. Alternates should stay informed on the current <br />issues, either by attendance or review of materials and minutes. <br />Ref.: Charge adopted by Board of Selectmen on December 1, 2003. <br />Board of Selectmen voted to designate as Special Municipal Employees on 1/18/06. <br />Revised charge October 15, 2007 to 18 Selectmen appointments and 3 appointed by <br />designated boards or committees. <br />Revised charge March 15, 2010 to increase general housing advocates to 13, removing <br />specific organizations and removing three liaisons. <br />Revised charge September 26, 2011 to decrease membership from 21 to 17 voting <br />Members. <br />11/05/03 <br />
