MINUTES – LEXINGTON CONSERVATION COMMMISSION MEETING February 22, 2011 Motion made and seconded to extend current regulations until September 1, 2011, 7-0 in favor. The commission also discussed implementing parts of the Action Plan for Willard’s Woods within this six month period. 8:15 pm North Street Trail Improvements Keith Ohmart of the Lexington Conservation Stewards updated the Commission about the current thoughts on trail improvements on North Street conservation area. He described the proposal to extend the trail from North Street around the large pond. He asked for initial feedback from the Commission about the possibility of putting a 32’ footbridge across a wet section on the back side of the pond within 100 year floodplain. The Commission responded that the footbridge cubic yardage would have to be offset by removal of equivalent material elsewhere on the site at the same elevation levels, in accordance with floodplain regulations. Mr. Ohmart also asked for initial feedback from the Commission on repairing an eroded section on the pond shoreline and within the 100 year floodplain. Duke Bitsko noted that he had visited the site. Mr. Wyman asked if the cause of the erosion was known. The Commission asked for a site visit when the snowpack clears. 8:30 pm Cont. Landscape planting plan dates February 15, 2011 Dominic Rinaldi went over differences between the previously revised plan and th “Plan B” that had been submitted at the February 8 meeting as an alternative plan.
